COULD PART-TIME JOBS BE YOUR DESTRUCTION?

Trust me I have been staring at my computer screen for days thinking about how to start this article. Then I thought it all begins with baby steps. Truth is there is a lot going on in campus it drives me crazy. When I joined campus I worked part time and then quite after one semester (the job of course). Well, that’s a story for anaa day. In case you are starting to wonder what this ‘Bitch’ is talking ‘bout,(no offence ladies but that’s what some guy at the cafeteria casually used in place of ‘chic’,so I guess that’s what we are called nowadays?) .Speaking of my part time job, so many students have part time jobs. It’s obvious they want to make extra cash for reasons such as fees, buying books, clothes, rent…partying(most do this) etc. while it’s a sign of independence, have you ever wondered the negative effects it has on our studies?
There is financial freedom hence the feeling that it’s your money and you can spend it however  and whenever you like even when the choices are clearly unbeneficial. There is also stress that comes with responsibilities at work and assignments at school especially those in full time programs. Most of the working students often don’t meet deadlines hence have to negotiate make up cats or assignments with the lecturer. You tend to miss classes because you are exhausted or have an emergency meeting at work. Since mostly there is no time between job and school, the student does not have free time to socialize with fellow students. This can decrease creativity due to lack of concentration and development of new ideas at school.
Do not misunderstand me, I beg, since I at times find myself in jobs. The problem comes in when we miss to identify our priorities. It’s an injustice to give priority to a job that’s short term because you may be putting your career, which is long term, at risk. Let’s be wise before missing that cat class or exam. Ask yourself if it’s worth risking your career…By @bonlista.
